The BMI calculator works entirely in your browser, so the height and weight you type in are never sent to us or stored. The site is free because it shows adverts from Google AdSense. What happens to the numbers you enter

When you use the BMI calculator or the unit converter, the sums happen in your own browser. Nothing you type is sent over the internet, saved to a database, or kept after you close or refresh the page. We can't see your height, weight or result, and neither can our advertising partners.

What we collect

We don't ask for your name, email address or any other details, and there are no accounts on the site. If you email us, we'll use your message and email address only to reply to you.

The servers that host the site may keep standard technical logs when a page is requested, such as your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and basic information about your browser. These are used for security and to keep the site running.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show adverts on this site. This is what keeps the calculator and guides free.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

Other third parties

The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. To do that, your browser contacts Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which means Google receives your IP address and basic browser information.

Our guides link to outside websites such as the NHS and NICE. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies.

Cookies

We don't set any cookies of our own. The cookies used for advertising are set by Google and its partners, and only with your consent where it's required. Our cookie policy explains this in more detail.

Under UK data protection law:

Your rights

Children

The site is written for adult women aged 18 to 65 and isn't aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

If we change how the site works, for example by adding a new advertising partner, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
